Picking the Right Electric Weed Eater Trimmer

If you're shopping around for a new electric weed eater/trimmer, here are a couple you need to take a look at.

First on the list is the Black and Decker Electric Weed Eater.

Model: Black & Decker NST2018 18-Volt Cordless Electric 12-Inch Grass Hog String Trimmer With Two Batteries

If you are still using a gas powered weed eater or a plug in one, you really need to check out the new cordless electric weed eaters. These things are really cool, if a weed eater can be cool.

At any rate, they are much quieter then gas powered ones without the annoying extension cords for the plug in kind.

The only downside to the Black and Decker is it's 12 inch cutting diameter. Not a big deal but it could be wider.

Now the Black and Decker electric weed eater is a little higher in price compared to the Weed Eater, but you can be rest assured that you will get the quality of a good product.

Next up is the Weed Eater.

Model: Weed Eater RTE115C 15-Inch 4.5 Amp Twist-N-Edge Electric String Trimmer

This electric Weed Eater is a great option for those on a budget. It's really cheap when it comes to weed trimmers but you're not going to get the same quality as the Black & Decker model.

This one is not cordless, so it's definitely not as cool as the Black & Decker. It is sturdy and well contsructed, so you don't have to worry about being cheap in quality.

The cutting diameter is 15 inches and also has the Twist-N-Edge shaft making it easy to trim and edge your lawn.

It's pretty generic as far as electric weed eaters go but it gets the job done, just not as fashionably.

My advice, if you need a new one, spend the extra money and go for the cordless trimmer. They are not prone to breaking down, so you'll probably have it for a long time into the future.

Black & Decker? Never again. Bought a grasshog weedeater with automatic feed and the automatic feed didn't work. B&D replaced that one with a second that did the exact same thing. Had both for less than 30 minutes before they started going weird.

Black & Decker good? I paid the extra bucks and have had nothing but trouble since day one. Won't feed and jams.

Going into the dumpster.

I bought a Black and Decker with auto feed and it's been a giant pain. Auto feed is a joke and I have just about paid the price of a new weed eater in buying the auto refills, which just auto feed themselves out and get all tangled up. Today I had enough.....it's going in the garbage.Think I'm finished with Black and Decker

B&D GH710 pain in the butt. Tangled up two brand new dual lines within 2 hours (yes! I read all the instructions). It's going back to HomeDepot tomorrow. Had old style B&D, single line for 3-4 years, never had line feed problems, an unstoppable cutting machine. Really bad engineering Black & Decker: really bad.

I purchased the Black and Decker battery charged weed eater, as I never can start the gas weed eaters. I have a battery charger and 2 battery back ups. The problem with this weed eater is that it only stays charged for about 10 minutes, and recharging takes an overnight in order to get a good enough charge to only last 10 minutes. I sure would like to find a weed eater that stays charged for a longer period of time. Not happy at all with the Black and Decker battery operated weed eater!!

I will never buy a black and decker weed whacker again! I had bad luck ever since with it. It is a piece of trash and causes me many headaches. Anyone have a recommendation on what to get?
